Work Zone Safety Device Alerts of Imminent Threats - DOT, Trucking, Towing
[Chattanooga, Tenn., Oct. 17, 2021] - ALPHA SAFENET of Chattanooga, Tennessee announces the immediate availability of its OverWatch Highway Safety System. The traffic safety device alerts distracted drivers and work zones of imminent danger and is suitable for traffic control operations and incident management scenarios, adding a needed layer of safety for departments of transportation (DOT), first responders, trucking, and towing personnel.
The LiDAR-based safety device may be used to audibly and/or visually warn both transportation teams and distracted drivers of the imminent danger of a crash. This essential capability to communicate with drivers audibly and/or visually may qualify the device for Federal Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) funding in many States.
The device establishes an electronic barrier or “trip-wire” which when crossed will alert personnel to take defensive action and alert the offending driver to self-correct before the accident.
